About Amy

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, Amy Cherven is the middle-child of three girls. Pre-teen angst, her middle school English teacher, and an introduction to the macabre writing of Edgar Allan Poe unlocked her own deep love of writing. She could often be found sitting under the ancient oak tree in her driveway scribbling poems of betrayal and lost love.

Amy began writing seriously in 2023, after attending a talk given by Sarah Penner. Sarah was on tour for The London Seance Society, Amy’s first introduction to the Historical Fiction Fantasy genre, and spoke about her journey from a career in corporate finance to becoming a full-time author. When Sarah Penner asked the room, “Why not you?” Amy’s worldview shifted. She put aside her belief that writing couldn’t be a career, joined a local critique group, and started her first novel, quickly rediscovering her love of writing.

Amy is an avid traveler, constantly seeking out medieval cities, monasteries, temples, churches, and moss-covered forests. Some of her most memorable destinations include Ireland, Italy, France, New Zealand, and the Banff and Olympic National Forests.

Amy graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mathematics and is a seasoned professional in corporate America, with a career that spans actuarial science, data architecture, and IT delivery leadership. One day, Amy would love to call herself a full-time writer.

Amy is married to her long-time partner, Andrew, and resides in Florida with their human child and two poodles, Bishop and Boots.
